Keynote - Thursday

A talk by Kim Goodwin

Kim helps clients build their own design capabilities at all levels. She helps CEOs and startup founders achieve their visions for integrating design—or use design to express their visions. She helps managers build effective teams and then helps those teams learn and apply research, design, and project leadership skills in any environment: Agile, waterfall, and anything in between.

Kim spent 12 years at Cooper, where as vice president of design and general manager she led an integrated practice of interaction, visual, and industrial designers. As a former in-house creative director, Kim thinks consultants should work with clients rather than for them. Today, she is VP of User Experience for PatientsLikeMe.com.

Kim teaches on every project, and has taught thousands of people at events around the world. Many more have learned from her bestselling book, Designing for the Digital Age. Kim’s clients have ranged from a one-man startup to the world’s largest corporations. She’s led design and research projects in healthcare, aviation, retail, communication, financial services, consumer, enterprise, automotive, government, and IT. Kim’s projects include services and dedicated devices, as well as software and sites for desktop and mobile platforms.

Kim lives near San Francisco but is seldom in her own time zone.
