Suggestions: 1 getting eastern block: get closer to there, make it less expensive. 2 five sheets for each session so they can evaluate it as they go, so they can remember it better. So 2007 improves. 3 get whiteboards so people can draw to explain ideas. Some of us are Visual. More: inspiration: presenting a summary to colleagues, he works in IT and it is not IA. He’s going to do some marketing. Start an IG to address concerns with digital tools. Last: thanks for the kick in the pants! It’s been a while since a last summit. He’s been lazy but now he’s inspired again.

Jason. He wants people to do stuff for him. Take a bit of paper. What’s a good IA? Write it down and also shout out! Team player, empathy, pragmatism, writing, people skills, solution driven, conceptual, detail, listening, big picture, diplomat, suspicion on buzz words, inquiring mind, bed side manners, findability, folksonomy, multi-tasking, understanding management, InfoClouds, aboutness, politician, sense of humor, visual design skills, strategist, intelligent, sense of commerce, out of the box, respect the history, objectives, multi dimensional, Machiavellian, coockability, multi discipline, using the product you create, awareness of technology, ability to cope with ???, hangovers, conferences on weekends, commitment, self sacrifice, relief or belief. Passion for IA. Current affairs, sharing, patience, impatience as well! Simple. Straight forward, pragmatic, dreaming, articulate, obsession with detail, anal, left brain and/or right brain, helicopter view, ability to delegate…
Pat. Some interesting stuff. No one from Sweden. Amazed at Nokia. Taking it forward. Go to Spain and Italy. East Germany, go there. Yvonne said we get in touch with people. Friend is trying to put together a website. UI-garb(?) Got people like Don Norman to write for them. She’s got sponsorship. So you need to get going. Volunteers? Things you can do in Europe: we’re used to talk to people from different countries. We might be better in talking to Asia. We might be a better place for that conversation.
Johannes Vermeulen, from Brussels. Skipped out to another conference by Scep. Rupert Sheldrake. Defender of telepathy. Was giving a presentation. A Belgian mathematician countered him. Rupert had good values. Had ESP cards, ganz feld tests, talked about quantum entanglement, he’s proved this works. He talked about telephone telepathy, you can do these tests at Sheldrake.org. Belgian mathematician: it’s impossible because of rules of electromagnetism; the brain cannot influence other stuff. Neurons can’t distinguish between elements. There’s no way to transmit signals over these distances. People were talking. He came after. I’m a business man, he asked, willing to accept that the body can do all kinds of things about physics. Why not telepathy instead of phone bills? It’s not necessary, we’ve got telecom. But earlier we needed telepathy for an evolutionary advantage!
Google: nova, string theory, it’ss good! Olly Wright from Media Catalyst, Amsterdam. Ticket aggregator. We wanna do mobile, get a European! Through mobile: big mess, no mobile. Reading on web 2.0. Why not make an API for your tickets? They saw it as very negative. Why would they share their info? Despite discussion, they weren’t convinced. Is it the European mindset that’s resonates with web 2.0?
Eric: couple of things: 1 we didn’t mention gurus. The Americans love this. Let them keep it. We’re just doing it, we’re not defining. That’s good!

Dan: Thanks for the first european IA summit! I don't think the distinction between big and little IA is useful as it obscures one of the core skills of an IA, the ability to relate the granular detail to the big picture and to conceive of the big picture in relation to a granular understanding of business, technology and information issues and people's context of use. As Europeans we can move on from this as we are not so obsessed with size ;-)

Francois Jordaan: Blog list: IA discuss Flickr group: be aware of it. Poke fun at interface, use the Flickr group? It’s a good place to blow someone else’s horn. Question: physics problem: a bullet from a gun, if it drops down, is it still dangerous? Less more, depends, how far up it’s fired, if you drop a penny from Empire State, will it embed in the concrete? No, terminal velocity. Angle or straight up? People get injured. He’s learnt something!
Britta from Hamburg. It’s been wonderful. As Europeans we have opportunities to cross borders. Maybe we can combine our language with the event? It’s important to focus on cultural and language differences as well as what we have in common as humans. Thanks! Till next year!

Wicked workshops, topic maps, microformats, ROI, IA and brand, tangible computing, visual design for IA, enterprise IA, innovation in deliverables, low tech tools, search and info retrieval, wireframes 2.0, get someone from the next Google, how to function as an IA across borders, design challenges like a contest, ethics of IA, IA and UML, interactive panels, other competences, ubicomp, IA & management & communication models, multi lingual taxonomies, personal IA of an IA, let people show their desktops, IA drawing classes.
Last word?
Quickly: ethics and IA, interesting, when Andrew Dillon was vague, Are was more specific, people were enthusiastic about health care project (NHS). The amount of info is enormous, also in relation to terrorist threats and armed forces. On the one hand we are careful about ethics, no one is really doing anything about it. What is it that we should be cautious about?
